More than 80 years ago, the Allied nations (the United States, the Soviet Union, the United Kingdom, China, France, Canada, Australia, and Poland) were engulfed in a world war (against primarily Germany, Italy, and Japan). In Great Britain alone, there were seven national calls to prayer.
